It's the 'real Spain, but easy in English' end of the coast, well away from Marbella's crowds.

Gibraltar (GIB) is closest at about 30 minutes by car, but it has fewer flights, occasional border queues, and in high winds flights sometimes divert to Málaga. Málaga (AGP) is roughly 75 minutes away via the AP-7 but offers far more routes and reliability, making it the safer all-round bet for most UK and Irish travellers.
